Boxing is the official sport of the underdog. We may have been created equal but we weren't born that way. Boxing levels the playing field. Give me your poor and huddled masses and I'll make fighters out of them.  Back in the days when no blacks, no Jews and No Irish Need Apply boxing was your ticket out of the ghetto. Now that boxing has been discovered by a new generation, the price of a ticket has gone up substantially. I was fortunate in that I started, and ended, my career in two of the greatest boxing gyms of all time - Gleason's and the Gramercy. On a Saturday morning in July of 1981 I went looking for a boxing gym and instead found the Promised Land. I want everyone to have that same experience, whether they can afford it or not. The great unsung heroes of society are those men and women who taught everyone who walked through their doors how to stand up, pick up their hands and Fight The Good Fight.
